Read (and Bike) Across America (2009-2010)

• The library has new exercise bikes for students to enjoy while reading.  Each page read = 1 mile.  Our goal is to reach all state capitals this year.

Kindles (2009-2010)

• Students use the Kindle to read ebooks in station lessons and during Sustained Silent Reading.   

Students read ebooks on the Kindle and answer questions.

Geocaching (2008-2010)

• Students use GPS units to find hidden cache containers on school grounds. 

Students just found a hidden cache using a GPS.

Wii Gaming Tournament (2008)

• The library’s gaming tournament was held for 6 weeks.  Each week, students with the highest scores were advanced to the next round. At the final round, the 2 best students competed, then the 2 best teachers, then the best student vs. the best teacher.

ComedySportz – Improv (2007)

• To celebrate the Teen Read Week theme “LOL @ your library,” ComedySportz visited Pocahontas to teach students how to do improv.
